It has taken over six months and the use of seven individual ingredients to complete our blend of organic ginger tea with organic lemongrass tea. The challenge was to retain the essential flavours we love from lemongrass and ginger while creating a rounded, balanced herbal blend; we think we have finally done that!
A Beautiful Blend of Lemon and Ginger Tea Bags
All the herbs used in this bespoke blend of herbal tea are organic certified, non-GMO and NON-Irradiated. We use unbleached natural brown tea filter paper that's biodegradable and made from non-GMO plant fibres, which is a bigger deal than it may appear at first! Nearly all the filter paper used by large manufacturers is not biodegradable or certified non-GMO, now you know!
Ginger Tea
Ginger tea is one of our favourite teas, and ginger is undoubtedly the strongest flavour in this tea blend. Our struggle was to keep a significant quantity of ginger in the mix so we could reap its benefits but not let it 'off the chain' so it dominated the flavour.
We retained ginger root as the second largest ingredient in this herbal blend and managed to negate its bold character with spearmint and peppermint leaves.
Lemongrass Tea
The challenge of this blend was not only to prevent it from becoming just another ginger tea but also to allow the lemongrass to shine. Lemongrass contains and deposits precious essential oils during the steep; these can support digestion and promote healthy, normal skin, hair and nails.
With lemongrass tea having such a delicate flavour and offering prized essential oils, we made it the largest ingredient by weight. After the tea has been steeped correctly, essential oils escape, giving the brew a silky appearance and fragrant aroma.
Spearmint & Peppermint Leaf
The peppermint leaf appears first when drinking this tea; it also lasts the longest. We introduced spearmint to' round off' the ginger. These two botanicals balance the overall flavour of the herbal tea and give it body.
Lemon & Orange Peel
The zesty taste and oils from lemon peel and orange peel are unmistakable; we love them because they impart even more essential oils to the steep and give it a fresh aroma. As the orange and lemon peel is dried, you will need to steep each bag for 5 minutes to extract every bit of goodness they have to offer.
Ginger and Lemongrass Tea affects
This herbal tea blend took nearly six months to perfect, which is far and away the longest we have spent blending a tea. The herbal tea has a unique, balanced flavour, a distinctive aroma and is oozing with essential oils.
