Our Red Rooibos Tea is a mild, sweet and gently soothing tea with a rich mahogany red colour and slightly nutty flavour. Many studies have shown that Rooibos Tea is very high in antioxidants.

Where Does Rooibos Tea Grow?

Rooibos Tea is grown in the stunning and spectacular Cederberg Mountains in the Western Cape and has been valued by the Khoisan people of South Africa for many centuries. Rooibos Tea (also known as Redbush Tea) is adored for its sweet and soothing nature and can be drunk with or without milk and maybe a touch of sugar or honey for sweetness.

Our high-quality Rooibos Tea is grown on a redbush and grows around 3 feet tall; the leaves are needle-like and very similar to that of a pine tree making the Rooibos Tea plant very different to other traditional tea plants.

Although the Rooibos Tea is deep red in colour, the leaves are harvested when they are green and they are naturally fermented and dried, and it is this process that gives the leaves their deep rich, mahogany-like a colour of red.

Naturally Caffeine-Free Redbush Tea

Rooibos Tea is naturally caffeine-free and has a taste that is reminiscent of honey and roses. Alongside its delicious taste, Rooibos Tea also has some substantial benefits; it's high in calcium in which may help support healthy bones and it used in by indigenous South Africas to treat allergies, ease severe stomach cramps and abdominal pains.

Rooibos Tea is traditionally used in South Africa to prevent a wide variety of conditions, it's used to help relieve stress, nervous tension and hypersensitive conditions. Many take Rooibos Tea as an excellent thirst quencher and a delicious drink on warmer days too.

Why We Love Rooibos Tea

We love Redbush Tea because of its delicious flavour profile, it's naturally sweet while being calorie free. It tastes great hot and cold but does need to be brewed for a longer length of time than other teas.

To drink it hot pour over an infuser with a cup of hot water and then leave for 5-15 minutes dependant on the strength and taste you require. If you would like to sweeten your Rooibos Tea further, you can add honey, coconut sugar or any other natural sweetener.

Rooibos Tea is great as an iced tea, you just need to put two tablespoons of Rooibos Tea in an infuser with a cup of hot water, let it steep and then cool for at least ten minutes then pour over ice and serve immediately. Rooibos Tea really is a great drink hot or cold to quench your thirst any time of the year.

Our Rooibos Tea has many benefits related to its antioxidant concentration, but research is still in the very early stages of how many health benefits Rooibos Tea has to offer – however, it is and always will be a refreshing and delicious drink to be enjoyed so why not give it a try?
