Our Red Rooibos Tea is a mild, sweet and gently soothing tea of a rich mahogany red colour with a sweet and slightly nutty flavour. Many studies have shown that Rooibos Tea is high in antioxidants which in some cases are more so than can be found in various types of green tea.
Where Is Rooibos Tea Grown
Rooibos Tea is grown in the stunning Cederberg Mountains in the Western Cape and has been valued by the Khoisan people of South Africa for many centuries. Rooibos Tea (also known as Redbush Tea) is adored for its sweet and soothing nature and can be drunk with or without milk and maybe a touch of sugar or honey for sweetness.
The high-quality Rooibos Tea we offer our customers is grown on a red bush that grows around 3 feet tall; the leaves are needle-like and very similar to that of a pine tree, making the Rooibos Tea plant very different to other traditional tea plants.
Dark Red Redbush Tea
Although the Rooibos Tea is dark red, the leaves are harvested when they are green, and they are naturally fermented and dried, and it is this process that gives the leaves their deep, rich, mahogany-like colour of red.
Naturally Caffeine-Free Herbal Tea
Rooibos Tea is a naturally caffeine-free tea with a taste reminiscent of honey and roses. Alongside its delicious taste, Rooibos Tea also has some extremely substantial benefits. High in calcium, Rooibos Tea can support bone health, effectively treat allergies and help ease severe stomach cramps and abdominal pains.
Rooibos Tea South African Tradition
Rooibos Tea is traditionally used in South Africa; many take Rooibos Tea as an excellent thirst quencher and a delicious drink on warmer days, too.
We Love Red Bush Tea
We love Red Rooibos Tea because it is never bitter due to its naturally sweet taste while being calorie free. It tastes great hot and cold but does need to be brewed for a longer length of time than other teas. To drink it hot pour over an infuser with a cup of hot water and then leave for 5-15 minutes dependant on the strength and taste you require. If you would like to sweeten your Rooibos Tea further, you can add honey, coconut sugar or any other natural sweetener.
You can also drink Rooibos Tea as an iced tea, you just need to put two tablespoons of Rooibos Tea in an infuser with a cup of hot water, let it steep and then cool for at least ten minutes then pour over ice and serve immediately. Rooibos Tea is a great drink hot or cold to quench your thirst any time of the year.
Our Rooibos Tea has many benefits related to its antioxidant concentration, but research is still in the very early stages of how many health benefits Rooibos Tea has to offer – however, it is and always be a refreshing and delicious drink to be enjoyed so why not give it a try?
