Certified organic RAW cacao nibs from the criollo cacao bean, the criollo cacao bean is known as 'King of Cacao' and is high in antioxidant polyphenols and a rich source of beneficial minerals.
Our RAW Cacao Nibs are made from pure cacao beans which come from the tropical criollo (king of cacao) cacao fruit. Cacao nibs are high in antioxidant polyphenols, as well as being a rich source of beneficial minerals. Our cacao nibs are a deliciously healthy alternative to regular chocolate and an excellent compliment for yoghurts, cereals and desserts.
There are three major varieties of Cacao:
- Criollo
- Forastero
- Trinitario
Our cacao nibs are from the Criollo bean, only 5% of the world's cacao is the Criollo tree. The Criollo bean tree is notoriously difficult to cultivate and is susceptible to environmental changes; the Criollo tree is native to South America.
