Origins of Echinacea Tea
Master herbalists from numerous ancient civilisations - which include Native American, Chinese, Egyptian, and Babylonian - all used the echinacea plant as a way to promote overall health and wellbeing. - Oddly herbal therapy is referred to as an alternative in the West today, but it is still the primary source of care in many countries.
Echinacea was named by Conrad Moench, a German botanist, it's derived from the Greek word echinos, which means hedgehog, from the plant's spiny appearance.
Following Instinct
Echinacea became popular in Europe around the 17th century, after early European pioneers visited North America where Native American tribes widely used the plant, it was quickly exported to Europe hailed for its benefits. Simply called 'Elk' by native American Indians because Elk instinctively eats the plant when they are sick.
